This is a great app, Fun and easy to add that extra touch to your Photo, you can adjust all the parameters of the effects to get the look you want and can Layer the effects. Worth the Money.
While I use this regularly to enrich photographs, the greatest thing about this tool is the quick way realism can be added to CG renders when concepting. Saves a bunch of in-app time when rendering or setting up scenes.
I can’t really put into to words how much I like this app. It makes a plain photo an insane photo. Absolutely a game changer for me.
this app creates really nice looking flares. however - there should be another handle to change the position of the pivot - its fixed to the center of the image.
What an incredible piece of software that is using flares, elements, bokeh, textures, etc... in such a great way. Very well designed and very inspiring, thanks to the wonderful display and the fast rendering ! What a great idea to put all these effects and parameters on independent layers. It is really a great and remarquable achievement that can really trigger your imagination. And the price is right… too ! Wonderful… keep up the good work !
Simple to use and great results that dont look over done unless you like the over-done look.
Believe me when I say the app concept is great and I’m loving the UI but its lacking some features that are needed for a graphic designer such as myself. • app preferences are greyed out? Is that a BUG? • the ability to export transparent PNG or PSD (you got layers going on) PLS Take a Look at an App by Neatberry Fumy its got layers and transperant export option as well as PSD exporting. • the ability to import a PSD (would be a plus but not a necessity) • support for larger format import and export and finally doc creation exceeding the 72dpi web limit please implement these changes and I will surely change the rating.
App couldnt be easier to use, great support from company if you have questions. Larger file size capability and different export options would be my only things to change… pleasure to use.
I use this app for subtle lighting enhancements and to give intriguing visual details. I am not a professional graphic artist, so I cant speak to quality for that level of user, but for the casual photo manipulator, its perfect. Interface is intuitive, it allows *lots* of tweaking of both the main elements and the associated artifacts, and overall its really fun to use (so much so that youll find yourself trying all the options before settling for the one you finally want). My current favorite effects are the Fringe flares, Nuclear Blast, and Electron Streaks. In addition to the main lens flares themselves, there are additional layers of filtering effects called "lens filters" and "lens textures" available, and they really allow a wide range of options to monkey around with. Overall, Im very happy with the program, and think it was well worth the price.
I purchased this product to replace Knoll Light Factory and so far it works really well. Its certainly a lot more powerful and customizable than I expected for $20 (Knoll Light Factory, by comparison, is $200). Its certainly a fast and speedy app on my MacBook Pro and runs incredibly smooth under OS X 10.8. A big benefit of this over many competing products is LensFlare Studios layers capability. You can add multiple effects without having to make destructive editing choices and can go back and edit layers as needed. I also love the ability to show and hide layers to test out various effects and elements. Sadly, this app is not compatible with Photoshop as a plugin. It would be wonderful to be able to use LFS within Photoshop itself, but I suspect the limitations of the App Store prevent this from ever happening and is not really the fault of the developer. Additionally, while LFS does support the opening of .PSD files (so long as they are saved with "maximize compatibility" checked), it does *NOT* allow for the export of layered .PSDs. It would be great to open a layered .PSD file, apply lensflare effects, then save it as a .PSD with those lensflares as their own separate layers within the .PSD file. The user interface is very simple to use. Everything is drag and drop with specific tweaks available at the bottom of the screen. I would like to see the addition of a trash can icon beneath the layers themselves in addition to the "delete lensflare" button with the ability to drag lensflare layers to the trash can to delete them. Photoshop works like this, and after using it for years and years Ive just grown accustomed to this ability. Its "unintuitive" to me to not be able to do the same within LFS. This is hardly a deal-breaker, though it would be my #1 requested feature apart from native Photoshop plugin compatibility. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and am really impressed with the full capabilities of LFS. At $20, its a very competent product and the best lensflare generator in the Mac App Store.
After seeing and useing Alien Effects and Lens Flare on the iphone and iPad I expected at the very least equal in the desktop version. Sad disappointment. The lens flares seem clunky, the elements are okay, and the bokehs are very poor to say the least. Would have been nice for a Lens Flare Studio to, at the very minimum, combine all Iphone and Ipad versions into a desktop version. Now that… I would have happily paid for. With what I got now… not happy in the least.
Lots of flares. And you can put them where you want them (move them around on the picture). You can also add more than one effect at a time. Turn them off and on. All kinds of adjustment sliders let you make effects more realistic. Renders a little slow on my old 2006 iMac, but works. I just have to wait 3 to 5 seconds for it to apply each effect. Overall, does a good job. As long as Im patient.
It does a great job at what it promises. That being said it sure would be handy to be able to add type. Thank you for the continued support and development.
Exactly something I was looking for. Only complaint is the GUI is a bit intense. †
The app is great! Tons of realistic flares to play, with broad selection of tools to modify them just the way I like. Besides the flares the app has a set of pretty filters and textures, which can be used even without the flares. The interface is quite polished and intuitive, and the app perfectly compliments my workflow for photo editing. So its a fair five stars!
Ive been a very happy longtime user of the entire line of iOS apps in the LensFlare family and couldnt have clicked the purchase button fast enough when I saw that there was a pro version available for Mac! All of the developers apps / software are very easy to use, are well-supported / maintained and are just plain old fun to use. As Im typing this I keep thinking about this super hi-res project I have with a deadline of in about two days, and didnt want to use Photoshop… especially after having used LensLight, LensFlare and Alien Sky for iOS… and even more so after learning how much better the lens flares are here as opposed to the defaults in Photoshop, I can unabashedly say that this software is a lifesaver! Theres no denying it. My "style" of photography largely relies on this line of software, and theres no way Im not meeting my deadline, especially now that I have LensFlare Studio in my desktop aresenal! For a steady stream of examples of this line of software check me out at @ishootreno on IG / Flickr.
Ive been playing with this wonderful app, and have been amazed at the sophisticated lens flares that are possible. Most important is that they are highly configurable and can be stacked in layers. I like that I can export the flare layers into Photoshop with a simple copy and paste. The GUI is well thought out, easy to use, and appears quite stable. This is an easy no-brainer purchase.
After using the IOS version for several weeks, I decided to give the Mac version a try…and I am glad I did! Beautifully and intuitively laid out, with a wide range of customizable effects, the possibilities of the app seem only to be limited by ones imagination. Ive experienced no issues of "crashing" (early 2012 iMac running Mountain Lion), even when testing a large number of effects on a single photo. This will be one of my "go to" image effects apps going forward.
Having had this App just a little while, it is obvious that is is AWESOME! So many effects, the possiblities are endless! SUPER FAST tech support, I sent an email asking a question, and before I had time to sneeze, I had a response! Great layout, good controls, makes your photos look fantastic! Well worth the money, quit stalling and just BUY it!
